I have been woodworking for 45 years. I am self-taught and get my motivation mostly based on needs around the house or family. My first shop was a one car garage in Marin County. With just a radial arm saw, router and hand tools I rebuilt the kitchen of our first home. Then in 1987 we moved to Livermore and a two-car garage, bigger shop but a shared space with kid's bikes, lawn mower and such. In 1995 we upgraded to a larger house with a three-car garage but also a spot in the yard to build a dedicated wood working shop. We hired a local contractor to build a detached two-car garage. Since then, I have added many tools and have reconfigured the area several times to get it how I wanted.
I have an extensive dust control system set up and I have built many jigs to work with the table saw and router table. I have built kitchen and bathroom cabinets, mudroom storage, entertainment center, hutches, end tables, coffee table, blanket chests, boat bookcase, rocking horse, child size rocking chairs, etc.
